Participants process requests, approvals, documents, information, and handovers in realistic office rounds — while discovering how small improvements in workflow design, prioritization, visual management, and teamwork can drastically reduce lead time and eliminate hidden waste.
The simulation is ideal for internal Lean Office training sessions, onboarding programs, or management workshops. It’s a practical way to teach Lean principles without PowerPoint slides — learning happens directly through action, observation, and reflection.
Training Concept
The Office Game simulates a complete administrative workflow divided into several office workstations.
During the first round, participants experience typical office waste: long waiting times, unclear responsibilities, excessive handovers, bottlenecks, rework, and information gaps. Then, they apply Lean Office tools such as:
- 5S (Visualization, Standardization) – bringing order and clarity to the office processes
- Kanban & Pull Systems – controlling work-in-progress and aligning processing steps with actual demand
- Value Stream Mapping (office VSM) – visualizing the entire information flow and identifying hidden waste
- One-Piece Flow for Information – improving throughput and reducing queues, batching, and overload
Each round is followed by a short reflection and performance analysis.
